Pink October on Fashion Street: Free breast cancer screenings, taboo-breaking podcast series, and charity programs all month long.
A full month for prevention and connection: the Fashion Street Pink October campaign returns this year with a free screening truck, a unique podcast series, community sports programs, and creative workshops.
Budapest, [October 1, 2026] – This October, Fashion Street joins the fight against breast cancer with a more extensive event series than usual, lasting the entire month. The focus of the Pink October campaign is on prevention, education, and community support. Visitors can look forward to three days of free screenings, taboo-breaking podcast discussions, community sports programs, and creative workshops. Fifty percent of ticket sales from paid events support the work of the Mellrákinfó Association; furthermore, Fashion Street, in cooperation with its partners, will also assemble 100 chemotherapy packages for patients currently undergoing treatment.
Key pillars of the campaign:
- Free screenings in the city center: For the fourth time, a mammography screening truck will arrive at Fashion Street to ensure early detection for women over three days.
- Educational podcast with Csilla Tatár: A four-part, taboo-breaking series featuring affected individuals and recognized professionals discussing the medical, psychological, and social aspects of the disease.
- Community experiences & support: Sports events, creative workshops, and 100 carefully assembled chemotherapy packages to aid the struggle.
- The highlighted supporter of the initiative this year is the Mellrákinfó Association.
Free screenings in the heart of the city – The mammography screening truck returns to Fashion Street
Early detection can save lives: The most important foundation of Fashion Street's Pink October campaign is again the free mammography screening truck, which has returned to the street for the fourth year, and thanks to the support of MagNet Hungarian Community Bank Zrt., this year it will be available for three full days instead of two. The screening is completely free and public, available to all women over the age of 30 without prior address or other requirements, subject to available capacity.
Dates of the free screening days: October 12, 13, 14.
Education and breaking taboos: The Pink October Podcast with Csilla Tatár starts
In addition to prevention, dialogue and breaking taboos are also crucial. In October, a new episode will be released every Thursday of a four-part podcast series, hosted by Csilla Tatár. The discussions will feature recognized professionals – including Prof. Dr. Magdolna Dank (oncologist), Dr. Tamás Mátrai (breast surgeon), Dr. Péter Kovács (clinical psychologist), and Zsuzsanna Prezenszki (oncopsychologist) – as well as affected individuals sharing their personal stories and representatives from the Mellrákinfó Association, exploring the medical, psychological, and social aspects of the disease. The series will discuss topics such as the involvement of young women, proper communication with patients and psychological support, coping strategies, and workplace and leadership responsibility.
The discussions will be available on the Fashion Street App, as well as on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube platforms.

All those who cannot participate in the advertised events but would like to support the work of the Mellrákinfó Association will have the option to make direct donations by purchasing supporter tickets at the Fashion Street webshop.
In addition to financial donations, Fashion Street, together with its key partners, will also assemble 100 chemotherapy packages, which will be delivered by the association to women undergoing treatment.
The event series is prominently supported by MagNet Hungarian Community Bank Zrt., Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest, and Al Habtoor Palace Budapest.

Fashion Street Budapest
Fashion Street is a thematic real estate development that covers a complete street section and is entirely privately owned, operating as an independent brand and premium shopping street in Budapest along a roughly 225-meter stretch between Deák Ferenc Square and Vörösmarty Square.
Its creator and founder is Péter Csipak, who established Immobilia Zrt. specialized in the development of inner-city properties in October 2000, the company responsible for the development of Fashion Street, which continues to operate to this day. During the renovation, the architecturally valuable buildings along the street regained their distinctive style characteristics developed at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, again awaiting visitors in the splendor of the early century, yet meeting the requirements of the modern age for nearly two decades. The exceptional central location of the street, adjacent to luxury hotels Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest and Al Habtoor Palace Budapest, the unique historical and cultural atmosphere, and nearby tourist attractions all define the quality of the district and, with it, Deák Ferenc Street.
Modeled after the fashion streets of London’s New Bond Street, Milan’s Via Montenapoleone, and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Fashion Street hosts premium brands such as Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, COS, lululemon, Lacoste, Falconeri, and Massimo Dutti.
As a historical milestone in 2025, according to the Cushman & Wakefield Main Streets Across The World annual professional report, Fashion Street took the lead as Hungary's most valuable shopping street from Váci Street for the first time in 34 years. With this exceptional achievement, Fashion Street became the 2nd most valuable fashion destination in the Central Eastern European region and the 26th in the world.
