We felt great on the walks even in a “November-like” May – report on the May Spring Thematic Walks
Between March and May 2025, we treated you to four walks each month, where we showcased our new and familiar streets up close. As always, I would like to start this report by thanking you for joining us on these walks. We owe the good atmosphere to both the participants and the hosting entrepreneurs, the fantastic tour guides, and the entire organizing team, as well as the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which makes all of this possible and supports small businesses in this way.
Unfortunately, our first walk in May had to be rescheduled due to illness (to June 6), and we already know that we will have a full house, plus we will definitely have good weather after many cool and gloomy days in May.
Thus, our first walk finally led us to Falk Miksa Street, where we explored the offerings of galleries from an interior designer's perspective. Falk Miksa Street is never boring; countless small treasures, exciting details, and a million stories await us here. This time was no different, and we even stumbled upon a vernissage. Our first stop was Moró Antiques, where Lajos Moró introduced us to the eastern magic. From there, we went to Nagyházi Gallery, where we encountered a plethora of interior design objects. At Bodó Gallery, there was a vernissage happening, so we mingled with the interested visitors, the “fans.” Finally, at the ArtCore Gallery, we listened to the wonderful stories of Zsuzsa Ferenczi.
On May 23rd, the weather was not on our side. However, our guests were as determined as we were and joined us on the Bartók Béla Boulevard, specifically for a walk around the Feneketlen Lake. We heard a lot about the history of the area, and then at the end of our stroll, we stopped by ArtMasters, where we could try out various craft workshops. With such rainy weather, there’s no better way to spend the time than trying something new and creating.
The last walk of the month led to the Margit Quarter. We explored the area around the Margaret Bridge in detail. Our first stop was at the bookstore of Ági Szabados, where we learned about the creation of Libertin, its mission, and the books we could find there. They even offered us a special discount. From there, we made a big loop, walking from Frankel Leo Street all the way to the other side, to Germanus Gyula Park. After that, we returned to our starting point at Gyóni Géza Square, then marched all the way to Bem József Square. Here we visited BEM Budapest. We then headed towards Ganz Street and viewed the Király baths from the outside. Through small streets, we made our way back to Fekete Sas Street via the Bem Center, where we ended our walk at Goosebumps Cafe Lab, tasting a local vegan specialty. The cookies were extremely delicious, and we can only recommend them.
